About

Land Service is a 105 year old environmental oriented youth organisation which is accessible to everyone. We strive to improve a love for as well as the protection of the environment and our natural resources. Sincere diligence forms part of all Land Service members and it is for this reason that the slogan of Land Service “Facta Non Verba” which means deeds and not words can be executed practically. Our values are Love for God, Love for Fellowman, Love for Nature and Servitude which are incorporated in our delivery of service and aimed at honing South African youths’ talents and spirituality to equip them with skills to deal with the challenges and problems they face on a day to day basis. Mutual appreciation and respect for other cultures are also stimulated in Land Service. Land Service contributes substantially to the delivery of citizens who make a difference; who are responsible, loyal, confident, life skilled and have initiative. We lead youth to a balanced adulthood by developing their hearts, hands and heads

Vision

Land Service is an environment-based youth programme. It strives to equip the youth in the management and preservation of the environment in its totality. The use of educational environment-based activities and techniques are used to reach this goal.

Visie

To be a genuine member of the Land Service Movement (to care, be involved in and to DO with regard to all environmental issues) so that it will be available to and will become a way of life to each and every South African. In this way it will mean that Land Service members will better the environment in which they live and thus be proudly South African as they make a difference.

Missie

Landsdiens is ’n omgewingsgerigte jeugbeweging.

Membership

The Land Service movement is accessible to all people who are able to endorse all the pillars (or loves) and aims of the movement. Although most of the clubs are centred and driven around the formal education system (primary, secondary and tertiary institutions) family clubs and special interest groups (bird watching-, hiking-, outreach-, reading-, arts and craft clubs as well as other special interest groups) are accommodated. Individuals can also be affiliated with the Land Service Movement. Members and clubs are officially registered.
